J+S Subsea

The Brief

J+S Subsea works across engineering, controls and intervention for the offshore energy sector, and their 2024-25 ESG report needed to be more than a compliance exercise. It had to reflect who they are: their sustainability commitment, transparency and values as a business.

The 2023 report had landed well, so this time round the bar was higher. They wanted a report that worked just as hard on the page as it did on substance. Informative, but also striking to look at and genuinely easy for stakeholders to get through.

In collaboration with ESG specialists Beyond Words, Emotion Brands was brought back on board to bring brand consistency and visual impact to the content-rich report. Our goal was to build on last year's foundation and refresh the design, bringing in more infographics and visual elements for this report.

The Solution

Working alongside J+S Subsea and Beyond Words, we shaped a strong set of ESG data into a report with real visual weight. More infographics, clearer visual hierarchy, and a design that felt unmistakably J+S Subsea throughout, reinforcing their standing as a serious, forward-thinking name in offshore energy.

Feedback on the 2024-25 report has been positive across the board. It picks up where last year left off and pushes things further, giving J+S Subsea a stronger, more visual way to talk about their environmental, social and governance work.

"I’ve had the pleasure of working with Gemma for the past two years on our annual Sustainability Report, and I am continuously impressed by her work.

Designing a sustainability report is a challenging task it requires balancing strict regulatory data with the need to tell an inspiring story. Gemma excels at this balance. She visualised complex information, making our ESG performance not only easy to understand but genuinely engaging for our stakeholders."
